UPDATED NOVEMBER 5 — FOURTH COUNTY ELECTION-NIGHT REPORT. Two seats on the Big Pine Unified school board remain in the unofficial count. The latest reported candidate selections are Mary Rossi 189 (32.36%), Kami Bayer 157 (26.88%), Adelina Rico 130 (22.26%) and Katy Carrington 108 (18.49%), according to Inyo’s 12:13 a.m. November 4 report. Bayer now holds the second-place position by 27 selections over Rico, compared with an 18-selection margin in the first reported mail-ballot batch. These percentages reflect the 584 total candidate selections, not individual voters, because eligible voters could pick two board members. More valid county ballots are still being processed, and the county expects another result update November 6. See the countywide uncounted-ballot report. First mail-ballot snapshot (historical figures)
BIG PINE, Inyo County — November 4, 2026. Voters in the Big Pine Unified School District are choosing two governing board members. In the initial mail-ballot count, Mary Rossi and Kami Bayer were in the two leading positions, with Adelina Rico 18 candidate selections behind Bayer for second.
First tabulated candidate selections
In the Inyo County first report at 8:00 p.m. November 3, Rossi had 123 selections (32.80%), Bayer 100 (26.67%), Rico 82 (21.87%) and Katy Carrington 70 (18.67%). The report listed 0 of 2 precincts reporting, so the initial returns did not yet reflect Election Day voting locations.
The percentages show shares of 375 recorded candidate selections, not the share of all families or voters in the district. School board positions involve educational budgets, district policies and school facilities, rather than city mayoral powers.
Why the second seat is not settled
With two positions available and an 18-vote gap between the second- and third-ranked candidates in the first batch, the remainder of Election Day and valid mail ballots could change the ranking. See the Inyo County Elections results for later updates.
